There is no way to get the Android version legitimately, such as from the Google Play Store. Please do not ask how to get it legitimately. You can still download the game from Google Play if you bought it before it got taken down by going to your purchase/download history. Episodes can't be downloaded this way. If in doubt, the Cache is the required game files and Episode 1 of both seasons.

Some newer devices don't run the game well (see bottom of page). If you want to play the game, you'll need to download VPhoneOS, which is an Android 7 and 10 virtual machine for Android. After you install the app, the game installation process is basically the same as the one on this section so you do not need to worry about anything else! (credits to KrusherDS for discovering this)

Getting crashes? Try VPhoneOS

Troubleshooting

If you are getting this error, you have not applied the OBB files correctly. See the above for directions.

Episodes "Coming Soon" or "Not Downloaded" means that you did not place the Data or Telltale folder in the right place, or at all. Remember that the Telltale folder goes on the root of the phone.

Notes

Note: It seems that S2 is a lot more stable than S1. Many people have reported fatal errors on S1, while S2 works in some capacity, but this will vary per device.

Note 2: The game works on anything Android based, so Oculus, Ouya, Fire tablets, Chromebooks, etc

Note 3: The game seems to not run at all on the Google Pixel phones, it also won't run pretty well on any phone running 32 bit (armeabi-v7a)

Note 4: Season 1 runs mostly perfectly with VPhoneOS, except for 3 bugs: There is a slight delay between characters' voices and when their mouths move, however it isn't too noticeable. There is also no music for the majority of Episode 7. The game also crashes at a specific scene in Episode 7, however this can be bypassed by exporting the telltale folder (which contains your saves), playing the game on your device without VPhoneOS until you get past the crash and save, then import your save back into VPhoneOS and continue playing normally. We will either find a solution to these bugs or find another Android VM without bugs.

Note 5: if you use a Android CPU (eg: Adreno) and you are using a newer model of Android, your game will still have a chance of showing black/corrupted textures, however there is no fix for this, unless if you just buy a phone Android 11 or lower.

Note 6: Story Mode does work on Chromebooks (which are Android based), but you have to be in Developer Mode. Here is a good guide to enabling developer mode. Please do note that this will wipe everything from your Chromebook.

Note 7: Tegra S1 is unfortunately lost.

Info regarding APKAward
Before, we would have recommended APKAward to get the files, but they decided to start redirecting their website and downloading random files to the users device.

Important Note: As Android phones’ architecture becomes increasingly different to hardware from 2018, MCSM will grow increasingly unstable with every new phone and software update. Some minor to major graphical glitches will almost certainly occur. It should also be said that you need to download the proper apk for your device (eg: Mali or Adreno). If you don’t, everything will appear dark, textures will not show up, etc. Google is your best friend for checking your GPU. If you still don't know, going to Settings and About Phone should help.
